Rusty's Pro Wash & Seal specializes in paver sealing for homes across Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties. Whether it's a driveway, pool deck, walkway, or patio, we use the correct surface prep, jointing sand, and premium two-part water-based urethane sealer for every job — never a one-size-fits-all spray-and-go approach. Below you'll find our full process, finish options, and links to city-specific paver sealing pages across Greater Tampa Bay.
Why Seal Your Pavers?
Unsealed pavers absorb moisture, UV rays, and organic growth that accelerate fading, cracking, and joint-sand erosion. Florida's combination of intense sun, high humidity, and heavy seasonal rain is especially hard on exterior hardscapes — algae and mildew set in fast, and unsealed joints wash out during storms. A quality seal creates a protective barrier that locks in color, stabilizes the paver field, and makes future cleaning dramatically easier since dirt and organic growth can no longer penetrate the surface.
Our Paver Sealing Process
Every job starts with a thorough pressure wash to remove dirt, algae, and mildew. If a previous sealer has failed or hazed, we strip it back to bare paver before starting fresh. We then refill the joints with medium-grit or fine quartz sand to stabilize the paver field against wash-out, and apply a premium commercial-grade two-part water-based urethane sealer using a pressurized pump rig — not a paint roller, which leaves a thinner, less durable coat. If your pavers have faded or shifted in color, we can also apply a semi-transparent tint to restore or change their tone before sealing (see our Paver Tinting page for color options).
Sealer Finish Options
We offer four finish levels to match your home's aesthetic: Natural (no sheen), Mid-Gloss (satin), Gloss (semi-gloss), and High-Gloss (the “wet look,” especially popular for pool decks and lanais). Take a look at each finish below.
Travertine & Natural Stone Sealing
Travertine, marble, and other natural stone surfaces need a different approach than concrete pavers. Rather than a topical urethane coating, we use a penetrating sealer that soaks into the stone's pores instead of sitting on top — protecting against water and salt intrusion while preserving the stone's natural texture, coolness underfoot, and slip resistance. This is especially important for pool decks and entryways where natural stone is common throughout Tampa Bay's luxury and waterfront homes.
Available in both color-enhancing formulas (which deepen and richen the stone's natural tone) and non-color-enhancing formulas (which preserve the exact existing appearance while adding protection). Because natural stone is porous and varies significantly by quarry and finish, we always assess the specific material on-site before recommending a product — travertine, marble, coquina, and shellstone each behave differently under sealer.
Whether you're maintaining a travertine pool deck, a marble entry, or a natural stone patio, our natural stone sealing service is built around protecting the material correctly the first time.
How Much Does Paver Sealing Cost?
Paver sealing costs depend on square footage, the current condition of the pavers (cleaning, stripping, or color restoration needs), the material, and your chosen finish. For most residential projects in Greater Tampa Bay, paver sealing runs $1.00–$1.75 per square foot, with pool decks and natural stone landing at the higher end due to additional prep and specialized products. The most accurate number comes from a free, no-obligation on-site estimate.
How Long Does Paver Sealing Last?
A professionally applied seal typically lasts 2–4 years depending on foot traffic, sun exposure, and proximity to the coast. We recommend re-sealing every 2–3 years to maintain maximum protection, and we'll reach out when it's time for your next application so you never have to track it yourself.
